The AI Design course encourages the reimagination of design work in the age of AI and enhances your design approach by seamlessly integrating the latest AI tools and methods for research, idea generation and project execution.

This course will help you merge your current skills with generative AI skills through best practices and newly developed design methodologies.

You will learn to craft AI prompts for maximum results, incorporate AI into your design workflows and improve the human-machine experience as it relates to responsibility, equity and safety.

You will join small, interactive classes with real-time instruction (either in-person or on Zoom) and have free access to software for remote use and designated campus labs.

Students earn a certificate upon successful completion of three modules – prompt design, AI-enhanced design process and human-AI relationship.

The prompt design modules teach the skills of partnering with generative AI tools by developing a new vocabulary and skill set, helping you incorporate it into your existing design process.

You will dive into the latest tools, examine trends, develop strategies for embedding AI in real-world applications and then apply your knowledge in hands-on exercises.

The AI-enhanced design process module integrates AI into your design approach for research, user personas, journey maps, idea generation and rapid prototyping.

The modules enable you to apply your new prompting skills, uncover innovative tools and identify the gaps in the current design workflow to create entirely new products, ideas and opportunities.

In the human-AI relationship, you will get hands-on practice for this skill with assignments, discussions and expert feedback, exploring responsible and ethical uses of AI in your work and society at large.
