The Architectural Interior Design BA (Hons) course at Inchbald School of Design equips students with advanced hand-drawn and digital skills.
The BA courses at Inchbald School of Design equip students with an in-depth professional understanding of spatial design either in Architectural Interior Design or Garden Design.
Inchbald focuses on developing professional and creative skills, providing comprehensive support to promote what is unique about each individual student.
These well-established courses enable students to understand design history, ergonomics, aesthetics and the technical remit a designer must acquire to practice successfully.
Communication of the design outcomes is explored across hand-drawn and computer-realised skills, providing a portfolio geared towards employment and addressing the client's brief.
Practical design projects, varying from residential to commercial and hospitality, are augmented by technically focused assignments addressing plumbing, joinery, lighting for interiors, planting plans and hard landscaping for gardens.
Students will be introduced to professional practice through lectures, work observation and internships after their graduation.
We collaborate with design studios and the wider design community resulting in strong connections with the professions and access to employment opportunities for our graduates.
Continued support is offered to graduates throughout their professional life.
A staff to student ratio of 1:8 ensures a tutorial based education across a compelling series of projects within an internationally diverse student cohort.
Inchbald provides a supportive environment for students to explore creative ideas through practical work and studio interaction in preparation for a self-chosen and self-directed project, which will be the signature piece for the final year exhibition that launches their careers.
