Course: BFA in Industrial Design
Location: Cleveland, USA
Course duration: four years
Application deadline: 1 March 2024

The Industrial Design (ID) program at the Cleveland Institute of Art emphasizes product development and the processes, systems and services that support it.

As an ID major, you will learn drawing for ideation and communication, computer-aided design and prototyping while you will explore broad design concepts and problems and learn how to critically evaluate and refine solutions.

You will work with students from other CIA programs, colleges and businesses as well as several international companies to expose you to real-world challenges.

ID classes take place in an open studio comprised of individual student studios and collaboration spaces.

Every student also has access to cutting-edge computer technology, shop facilities, presentation and project rooms and rapid prototyping – a technology that turns your CAD/CAM design into a three-dimensional scale model.

Within CIA's nationally acclaimed ID major, you may choose the transportation design track in order to focus your career on meeting the ever-changing needs of companies that build cars, trucks and motorcycles.

You'll learn from and connect with automotive designers working at the top of this field and explore its many career options.
