Confluence Cycle 2 at Confluence Institute

The Confluence Cycle 2 programme at Confluence Institute allows students to gain in-depth knowledge and start their careers in architecture.

School: Confluence Institute for Innovation and Creative Strategies in Architecture
Course: Confluence Cycle 2
Location: Paris, France
Course dates: three years starting in fall 2024 or spring 2025
Application deadline: 30 June 2024

Confluence develops a large understanding of architecture as a discipline, moving beyond the mere design of buildings. The school is committed to cultivating a diverse range of approaches that encompass the understanding of cities, contemporary contexts, cultures and buildings.

Confluence Cycle 2 is a two-year programme structured in two phases. During two semesters, students explore contemporary issues through a vertical studio and participate in a selection of intensive workshops led by guest professors – including architects, critics, artists, philosophers, filmmakers, scientists and engineers.

After this first phase, students access the diploma studio, a year-long project that leads to the completion of an independent research and speculative design proposal linked to a specific context or contemporary issue.

By the end of the programme, students will have been given the tools and the conditions to articulate and defend their distinctive understanding of the world and how they intend to act upon it.

Confluence Cycle 2 is a two-year programme validated at RIBA Part 2 level by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
