Location: Melbourne, Australia
Course dates: semester 1 from March to June, semester 2 from July to November
Application deadline: 31 May 2024 (with late submission deadline on 19 July 2024, unless places are filled earlier)

RMIT University’s Master of Architecture is a two-year AACA-accredited professional degree program that provides a pathway towards architectural registration in Australia.

The program is open to graduates of a minimum three-year dedicated architecture undergraduate degree and is taught face-to-face in small studio groups at the award-winning RMIT Design Hub in the centre of Melbourne.

The program is primarily focused on design, with vertically integrated, project-based design studios forming the majority of the course load. Design studio is supported by a series of specialist courses that develop advanced knowledge and skills in professional practice, urban architecture and reflective practice.

The program includes three elective courses through which students can develop technical skills and specialisations and participate in the school's research projects. The program culminates in a semester-long major project (a design thesis), in which students work with a supervisor to develop an independent body of design research and an architectural proposition.

RMIT Architecture undertakes practice-based teaching and research through the medium of architectural and urban design. Our faculty is made up of world-leading practising architects and designers. The school provides an arena through which our students, staff and industry partners can develop propositions that respond to critical issues and challenges facing the world.
