Situated Practice MA at The Bartlett School of Architecture

The Situated Practice MA course at the Bartlett School of Architecture teaches the principles and skills of situated practice in relation to conceptual spatial theories in art, architecture, performance, urbanism and writing.

Combining architecture, art, design and curatorship, the Situated Practice MA at UCL's Bartlett School of Architecture enables students to engage critically with urban and social contexts, and create their own site-related project.

The Bartlett is ranked number one in the world for Architecture and Built Environment (QS World University Ranking by Subject 2024) and number one in the UK for Architecture (The Guardian University Guide 2025).

Working with practitioners and researchers from the Bartlett School of Architecture, alongside international affiliated centres and institutions, this course empowers students to pioneer new forms of hybrid practice between art, design, architecture and curatorial work.

Students create their own site-related projects – from physical installations and digital interventions to site writings, ending with a highly innovative professional creation in their portfolio.

Your work will be exhibited in the annual Fifteen Show – a showcase of student work attracting hundreds of visitors to the school's Here East location.
