Milan Design Week emerges victorious in our Events Hot List

This is a competitive field: there has been an explosion in the number of design weeks and architecture festivals in recent years. Yet the oldies still reign supreme, according to our readers. Milan Design Week (which includes the 55-year-old Salone del Mobile) is our top event, while the Venice Biennale, which has featured both art and architecture since 1968, is third.

Splitting up these two Italian events is relative newcomer Dutch Design Week, which is at number two.

Maison&Objet, which dates back to 1995, is fourth and the Pritzker Prize for architecture, first awarded in 1979, is fifth.
