The Spot On: Women Designers in the Collection exhibition at Vitra Schaudepot explores the role of women in furniture design and questions the Vitra Design Museum's collection practice.

The exhibition aims to strengthen awareness of women designers’ works and to give them an equal voice in public discourse.

Individual designers, design collectives, studios and partnerships are examined in the exhibition including new acquisitions from designers Inga Sempé, Reiko Tanabe, Matali Crasset and Gunjan Gupta. There is also a range of historical objects from the museum's archives, such as pieces illustrating the collaboration between Ray and Charles Eames.

The exhibition is the first of a series that is being held in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Vitra Schaudepot, a venue on the Vitra Campus that displays more than 400 key works from the collection of the Vitra Design Museum.

Spot On: Women Designers in the Collection takes place from 19 June 2021 to 8 May 2022 at Vitra Schaudepot, Charles-Eames-Straße 2, 79576 Weil am Rhein, Germany.
