New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) spotlights tensions in modernist thinking in the Crafting Modernity: Design in Latin America, 1940–1980 exhibition.

The exhibition presents furniture, ceramics, textiles, paintings, prints, design objects – such as appliances – and photography created by artists and designers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.

The display pieces reflect social and political changes happening in Latin America between 1940 and 1980.

Crafting Modernity: Design in Latin America, 1940–1980 takes place from 8 March to 22 September 2024 at MoMA, 11 West 53rd Street, New York City, New York 10019, USA.
