Swiss design school ECAL has partnered with Japanese brand Karimoku New Standard and governmental initiative Presence Switzerland to create the Designed in CH, Made in JP exhibition.

Students of the master's Product Design course were tasked with creating 10 variations of a stackable wooden chair for World Expo 2025 Osaka, and the Designed in CH, Made in JP showcase at group exhibition House of Switzerland spotlights each prototype.

Karimoku Furniture selected the circular HUG chair by Jacob Kouthoofd Martensson and Min Xiyao for production.

Designed in CH, Made in JP takes place from 7 to 13 April 2025 at House of Switzerland, Casa degli Artisti, Corso Garibaldi 89A, Via Tommaso da Cazzaniga, 20121 Milan, Italy.
