French ceramicist Alice Gavalet presents Pattern Play at New York City-based Twenty First Gallery, showcasing furniture and homeware.

The collection includes tables, cabinets, vases, lamps and wall sconces, incorporating wood and brass with clay.

Pattern Play is informed by tartan, art brut – a term coined by French artist Jean Dubuffet that translates to "raw art" and refers to graffiti and other non-traditional forms – and the works of American ceramicist Betty Woodman and Italian architect Ettore Sottsass.
