The Spitzer School of Architecture and the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) present an exhibition and event series celebrating the 25th anniversary of the European Prize for Urban Public Space.

The European Prize for Urban Public Space is a biennial competition organised by the CCCB that has been running since the year 2000. It platforms projects that create, transform and recover public spaces within European cities.

The exhibition documents various projects in the competition's 25-year history through the lens of ten distinct themes covering the smallest- to the largest-scale interventions.

Alongside the exhibition, the Spitzer School and the CCCB will facilitate a multitude of public events during which conversations between practitioners, teachers and thinkers will cover a spectrum of complex issues surrounding urban environments.

Design Matters: In Favor of Urban Public Space takes place from 10 September to 26 February 2027 in the Spitzer School Atrium Gallery, 141 Convent Avenue, New York City, New York 10031, USA.
