London Design Festival 2026 will see Hackney Downs Studios opening its doors to the public for its first open studio showcase in seven years.

The exhibition, taking place for one night only, is set to feature a selection of work by the studio's residents, spanning ceramics, collectible object design, audiovisual design, publishing design and event design.

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the workshops to discover new work, works in progress and the ideas and processes behind them.

Eight studios will be open to the public, in addition to an exhibition in The Gallery at Hackney Downs Studios – hosted by All Ears and curated by OP-OV – featuring the works of 30 designers close to the Hackney Downs Studios network.

Known Terrain takes place from 6pm to 9pm on Wednesday 16 September at Hackney Downs Studios, Amhurst Terrace, London, E8 2BT.
