1971 – Design Space x S’ila Collective at Dubai Downtown Design
Sharjah, UAE-based design centre and platform 1971 – Design Space has collaborated with design studio S’ila Collective to create an exhibition for Dubai Design Week 2026.
On display at annual fair Downtown Design, the showcase spotlights the Sanad cushion created by S’ila Collective for 1971 – Design Space, made from multi-coloured textured fabric.
The exhibition seeks to explore “movement, gathering and exchange”, with visitors able to sit on the cushions to meet, observe and learn with each other.
The presentation, located at stand D18, was created by architects Maryam Bin Bishr, Nuhaila AlHemeiri and Salma Ali Hani, the founders of S’ila Collective.
