Here are some new images of the Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum designed by Zaha Hadid for Michigan State University, which has been given permission for construction to begin.

The three-storey building will be clad in glass and metal pleats.

The project will include 18, 000 square feet of exhibition space, an education centre, museum shop, visitor café and staff offices.

Construction will begin in March 2010 and is due for completion in 2012.

plans look nice, and it looks like it fits to the site well but can anybody understand what is going on the elevtaions and the renderings???
Few interior photos would go down well! the last elevation image is rare looking lol!
Nice… I like the strong lines …..
it's a better version that the competition scheme
I found a blurb of an article I remember reading in ICON (http://www.iconeye.com/index.php?view=article&catid=341&id=2809&option=com_content)
Students in her Yale studio developed an interesting museum complex based on the idea of camouflaging the size and shape of the building through patterning and perspective control, not dissimilar to this museum proposal.
so to respond to norm: I think not understanding what is going on is very intentional. It should be trippy to walk by/through this building once its built!
it seems she started to consider budget.
This kind of camouflage is probably the reference:

Judging by the fourth image it looks like Hadid and Heatherwick are keen to cater for one legged children.
this is what budget and compromise look like.
although it’s great to see a departure from the land of whipped cream she has been living in the last couple of years, I don’t know if I am embracing this alternative, the crumpled shoe box.
sloppy metal panel patterns warped perspective does not make.
Very spectacular, like every work of Zaha Hadid. However this time it’s more angular than usual.
so zaha! haha
what happened to zahas CG team?
not typically zaha and going one step further. styling from render is breathtaking
More Libeskind than Hadid.
Zaha well done. I like your imaginations . Latest touch in Architectural design. Hard to design and hard to erect for engineers .Keep it up . Regards.
