We kicked off our Dezeen and MINI World Tour at Design Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded in 1995, this annual three-day conference attracts high-profile international speakers from all creative disciplines.
On the bill this year was architect David Adjaye, designer Martí Guixé, advertising guru Sir John Hegarty and many more.

Design Indaba founder Ravi Naidoo welcomed us to Cape Town before taking us to the upcoming district of Woodstock, where many designers have moved in recent years.
At the conference we spoke to David Adjaye about african architecture, Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde told us about the clothes he is designing that become transparent when you lie and Ben Terrett, head of design at Government Digital Service, told us about the design for the new gov.uk website, which would later go on to be named Design of the Year 2013.
