A0 size poster, Title: Eulenspiegel Print 1 (50 Euro value)

About the poster

As its latest Art Edition prints, Gestalten presents four posters from Icelandic designer Katrin Olina. These atmospheric illustrations embody the artist's hallmark ability to sublime the dark with the light, especially in mythical form. Brilliant rays of light filter through a swamp forest abundant with vines and flowers. But upon closer look, truculent objects emerge -- centaurs, barbells, machine guns, droopy flora -- causing the plump cartoon-like characters to appear suddenly sinister.

About Katrin Olina:

From Paris to London, Japan to Germany, artist Katrin Olina's surreal visuals have garnered her world-wide recognition. After studying Industrial Design at the E.S.D.I. in Paris before working as a product designer with Philippe Starck in Paris and Ross Lovegrove in London, Olina moved on to graphic design and illustration work for projects including the large-scale commissions by the Kortrijk Design Biennale in 2002, Oslo National Gallery in 2005 and, most recently, the Cristal Bar in Hong Kong.
