Dezeen Magazine

This week on Dezeen

This week we announced our plans for Milan during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, with Dezeen Studio powered by Jambox setting up camp at new design centre MOST, where we'll be filming a daily TV show with interviews, news and even weather reports. In the meantime MOST instigator Tom Dixon gave us a guided tour of the galleries, shop and restaurant at The Dock, his canalside headquarters in north London.

London's Design Museum launched an iPad app this week featuring 59 objects from their collection, including interviews with museum director Deyan Sudjic filmed by Dezeen. Watch a compilation of entries from the app on classic design for driving on Dezeen Screen.

This week's most popular story was a slideshow of a house in Japan with a secret balcony, while a simple glass extension to a brick house from our Designed in Hackney series also attracted plenty of attention. Other Hackney-based projects included PearsonLloyd's design for a new business class cabin for Lufthansa, Ian McIntyre's hand-crafted pottery for Another Country and the popular watch brand Uniform Wares.

Readers thought a fire station in Austria with an illuminated tower looked like a church and Google celebrated the legacy of German architect Mies van der Rohe on what would have been his 126th birthday.

A strap that allows an iPod Nano to be worn like a watch launched on Dezeen Watch Store and we added new boards on Pinterest for jewellery, women's fashion and shoes.
