London Design Festival 2015: London designer Lee Broom is presenting his latest collections of furniture and vases against a backdrop of flowers at his Shoreditch showroom (+ slideshow).
Described by Broom as "an immersive journey through a sea of flowers," the installation is located at his showroom on Rivington Street for the duration of this year's London Design Festival.
He created The Flower Shop to showcase his collection of Podium vases, which comprise marble bases and glass vessels in a variety of shapes.
Pieces from his Department Store collection, first shown in Milan this year and now available to purchase, are also displayed against flowers set out in colours and arrangements designed to match the products.
The vases are used to display long-stem flowers, and are surrounded by more floral arrangements in vitrines dotted through the store and panels covering the walls.
Cylindrical marble lamps from the Nouveau Rebel range are on show beside glass tubes filled with white blooms, while a bed of red chrysanthemums is located below the hanging Hoop chair that is upholstered in the same colour.
Broom's older products, including his Crystal Bulb and matching glasses, are housed in a grid of shelves with a chequerboard of blue-petalled panels behind.
He has also collaborated with food writer Pip McCormac to create botanic food and drinks.
This is the designer's latest in a string of ambitious installations, following the transformation of his showroom into an old-fashioned grocery store in 2012 and turning vacant shops into a mock department store in Milan this April.
After the design festival, Broom's showroom will be refurbished to permanently accommodate the Department Store pieces along with other key items from earlier collections. The vases are available exclusively from the store and online for six months.
