One lucky reader will be given a free two-night stay at The Student Hotel Florence Lavagnini for up to two people, including breakfast.

The newly opened Florence Lavagnini is housed in a historic Tuscan palazzo, but has been transformed with modern features

The former palazzo, previously nicknamed by locals as the Sleepy Palace, was recently given a €50 million renovation by the hotel's in-house team, along with Italian studios Rizoma Architecture and Archea.

Like other branches of The Student Hotel, it brings together hotel accommodation, co-living spaces for students and co-working facilities.

The building contains 390 guest rooms, as well as a rooftop swimming pool and sky bar offering views of the Florence Duomo, and a courtyard decorated with murals by British street artists The London Police.

The restaurant, Out of the Ordinary, is a collaboration with popular local cafe La Menagere, and offers a range of menus including, pizza, casual dining and fine dining.

Other facilities include DJ booths, a bike store, a concept fashion shop and a hair salon.

The hotel is conveniently located in front of the Giardino della Fortezza park, just 15 minutes walk from the city centre.

One winner will win a two-night stay in a double room, on a date of their choice, with breakfast at the hotel. Flights and additional travel are not included in the prize.

Rooms are also available to book via the hotel's website.

Competition closes 29 August 2018. One winner will be selected at random and notified by email, and his or her name will be published at the top of this page. The prize is valid for 12 months from the day the winner is notified, and is subject to availability.
