Pam chair by Studioforma

Studioforma's Pam chair was informed by palm trees

Dezeen Showroom: Swiss architecture firm Studioforma has released Pam, a tubular chair made from walnut wood, with Italian manufacturer Meroni & Colzani.

Pam's distinctive design was informed by the lamellar structure of palm leaves and the laid-back atmosphere evoked by the tropical trees.

"Palm trees are subjects of a tropical natural lifestyle and immediately induce a sense of relaxation and wellness," Studioforma explained.

The shape of the chair was informed by palm trees

The chair's curved, organic shape is underlined by the smooth walnut wood, with its seat and backrest blending seamlessly into one.

Studioforma first introduced the Pam chair at Milan Design Week in 2016. Since then, the studio has optimised the manufacturing process together with Meroni & Colzani, and the chair is now available for residential and commercial use, both indoors and outdoors.

True to its tropical inspiration, Studioforma recommends the Pam chair for "luxurious living areas, contemporary restaurants and tropical hotel settings."
