Dezeen Showroom: influenced by water and ideas of eternity, the double-ended Möbius sofa by Lauren Colquhoun for Bazaar offers space for two people to sit and contemplate.

Colquhoun, an interior designer, originally created the Möbius loveseat for a London riverside project by design studio Accouter.

The Möbius loveseat joins two people in an eternal loop

The riverside setting led Colquhoun to consider symbols of flow and eternity, which in turn led to the möbius strip — a band with one edge and one side that is non-orientable.

Möbius strips are often created by taking a strip of paper, twisting it over once and joining its ends into a loop.

The design can be upholstered in any fabric

The Möbius loveseat is a statement piece that is handmade to order by craftspeople in the UK. It is pictured in cobalt blue velvet but can be upholstered in any fabric.

It is available exclusively through Bazaar London.
