Chord sofa by Part & Whole

Dezeen Showroom: low lounge seating of the 1970s informs the modular Chord sofa, designed by Nathan Martell and Steve Suchy for Part & Whole.

The sofa consists of three modules – a corner piece, flat back piece and backless ottoman, which can be configured freely depending on the space.

The sofa's elements can be used together as one large unit or in isolation for smaller seating solutions

The sofa combines 1970s design aesthetics with modern construction and upholstery. Lumbar support and multi-density foam seats are hidden beneath the sofa's quilted exterior finish.

"The simplicity of the system lends itself to large and unexpected configurations while encouraging a playful approach to composition and arrangement," said Part & Whole.

The sofa's components can be purchased individually to create a bespoke seating solution for any size space.

The 100 per cent wool upholstery is available in seven colours including pink, navy, yellow, cream, grey, green and charcoal. 100 additional colours are available on special order.
