Dezeen Showroom: US office furniture brand Steelcase has released an updated version of its Please chair, with a contemporary-looking mesh back designed to be breathable.

The Please Air chair combines the product's classic shape and lumbar support with a mesh fabric, providing what Steelcase describes as "even tension and exceptional comfort".

The office chair features the Please chair family's LTC2 (Lumbar Thoracic Cervical) support system, with sections that function independently on separate areas of the back, mimicking the behaviour of the spine.

The design incorporates findings from Steelcase's motion study to support the user through a long working day, no matter whether they prefer an upright or relaxed sitting posture.

The Please chair can be tailored to the individual user through precision adjustment mechanisms, with symbols marked on the frame making modification exact and intuitive.

The chair is available in a range of new colour and material combinations, making it customisable to any office environment.
