Medici tiles by Azulejos Benadresa

Dezeen Showroom: Spanish brand Azulejos Benadresa has released Medici, a range of tiles informed by the characteristic striations of Calacatta marble.

The Medici collection is named after the House of Medici, an Italian dynastic family whose palace in Florence used marble throughout its interior.

The collection was designed to combine the refined appearance of marble with the accessibility and cost-effectiveness of man-made tiles.

"Medici takes the classic look of a Calacatta marble with its distinctive veining and reimagines it in a variety of hues," said sales manager Pascual Casalta.

The Medici Gold colourway features gold and grey veining

The collection encompasses three colourways, each featuring a clean white base overlaid with either blue, grey or gold veining, and available in a natural or polished finish.

The tiles come in five sizes ranging from 60 by 60 centimetres to 260 by 120 centimetres to suit a variety of scales and applications.

Azulejos Benadresa is part of Tile of Spain, an association of more than 100 Spanish tile manufacturers.
