BOB 52 sofa module by Thomas Bernstrand and Stefan Borselius for Blå Station

Dezeen Showroom: Swedish furniture brand Blå Station has created a wider unit for its modular sofa by designers Thomas Bernstrand and Stefan Borselius called BOB 52.

BOB 52 is double the width of the original BOB module, at 56 centimetres versus the standard 26 centimetres.

The wide BOB 52 module can be used on its own as an easy chair

The new unit adds more variety to the already versatile BOB modular sofa system, which can be built in straight or curved configurations, and with either high, low or no backs.

BOB 52 has the bonus of being able to stand alone as a chair, or it can be mixed with other modules into an array of configurations.

The BOB modular sofa system allows almost endless combinations

The BOB system is made of FSC-certified plywood and moulded foam and is available upholstered in fabric or leather in a wide range of colours.

Blå Station intends the sofa to work particularly well for lounge areas, transit settings, hospitality and offices.
