Dezeen Showroom: Italian lighting brand Tooy has expanded its Nastro collection by Studiopepe with a modular lighting system made of sinuous aluminium lengths that can be customised to flow around the architecture of a given room.
Nastro System's adaptable metal framework can be embedded with LED strips and organised around small cylindrical modules that either act as spotlights or simple pegs, around which the aluminium is curved.
Together, these two elements allow users to create customised suspended and wall-mounted light features that mould themselves to corners and around columns to accentuate the interior's topography.
The Nastro System comes with dimmable LED lights and can be powder-coated in one of five colours – black, eggshell, beige, terracotta and sage green.
The cylindrical modules can be rendered in the same colour to match or in a selection of other materials including brushed brass, ash wood or raw concrete.
This level of customisation lends itself to both residential and large-scale commercial projects, according to Tooy.
