Plusminus lighting by Stefan Diez for Vibia

Dezeen Showroom: designer Stefan Diez has created the Plusminus lighting system for Vibia, using conductive fabric straps for both functionality and a stylistic touch.

The Plusminus system features a range of contemporary-looking, minimal luminaires ranging in shape from spheres to rods that are all combined with a coloured textile ribbon to position the lights and conduct electricity.

The luminaires can be arranged in multiples using a simple click-and-connect system, allowing for the creation of unique lighting solutions that also delineate and enhance space.

Vibia describes Plusminus as "light without limits" that "adapts to any kind of architecture, facilitating diverse compositions of pendants, chandeliers, wall lights, ceiling track lighting and space dividers".

"The Plusminus collection is a toolbox which, thanks to the wide range it contains, enables you to find solutions to an incredible number of lighting problems," explained Diez, who designed the system with his studio Diez Office.

The luminaire options include a Sphere offering 360-degree diffusion lighting, a Spotlight for directed diffusion lighting or accent lighting, and a Linear Diffuser for general lighting.
