Tearoom collection by Nick Ross for Menu

Tearoom seating collection by Nick Ross for Menu

Dezeen Showroom: Nick Ross aimed to combine plush upholstery with a minimalist silhouette in the Tearoom seating collection, which the Scottish-Swedish designer has created for furniture brand Menu.

The Tearoom collection features three elegantly curved chairs as well as a sofa, available with low or high backs that create a cocooning form.

With the range, Ross wanted to demonstrate the potential for creating comfort through simple geometric forms.

He was particularly inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Willow Chair, which the Scottish architect created for the Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow in the early 1900s.

The collection also includes a sofa

"While creating the clean silhouettes, designer Nick Ross took exceptional care to imbue every inch of each design with mood-lifting comfort," said Menu. "Lines curve gently to ensure that the furniture's contours complement our own."

The Tearoom collection includes a club and a side chair as well as a lounge chair with a swivel base.
