The Secret Garden armchair by Roberto Lazzeroni for Poltrona Frau

Dezeen Showroom: Pisa-based designer Roberto Lazzeroni has created a curvy outdoor armchair for Italian furniture brand Poltrona Frau, which is designed to "embrace" its user.

The Secret Garden armchair, which forms part of Roberto Lazzeroni outdoor collection The Secret Garden is characterised by its rounded shape.

Taking cues from Italian craft, the brand explained that it wanted the chair to be used for relaxation and enjoyment.

The Secret Garden armchair is designed to embrace its user

"The armchair is a piece of furniture for relaxation and enjoyment in outdoor environments," said Poltrona Frau.

"It is characterised by impeccable craftsmanship in the woodwork to achieve its embracing and contoured form."

It is made from teak wood and can be customised with padded seat cushions

The low-slung chair is made from solid teak wood with a natural finish, which is designed to withstand water and adverse weather conditions.

Its backrest is made up of a special weave of two-tone cotton woven straps in ecru and taupe colour options.

The backrest features woven cotton straps

For additional comfort, a square backrest cushion and a rectangular lumbar support cushion can be used on The Secret Garden armchair. All of the paddings have removable covers and are designed to allow water to drain away and dry quickly.

According to the brand, it can be combined with a two-seater sofa and low table in the same collection to create an informal dining area.
