Seymour chair by Charles Wilson for King

Dezeen Showroom: designer Charles Wilson has collaborated with furniture brand King to create the Seymour chair, a contemporary Australian take on the mid-century lounge chair.

The Seymour chair features an innovative cantilevered base and sweeping curves that give the classic furniture style a new flavour.

According to King, Wilson's objective with the chair was to create a favourite spot in the home, where a person could unwind in the evening with a drink and book.

"With contoured curves that command attention, the generous seat invites undisturbed relaxation," said King.

It is available with the option of a four-leg fixed base

The Seymour chair is available with either a high back, mid back or low back, and with either a timber swivel base in a range of finishes or a fixed-leg steel base powder-coated in black or white. There is also the option of a matching footstool.

The Seymour chair comes with fabric or leather upholstery that is removable for cleaning or replacement, ensuring the piece will stand the test of time.
