Miss Holly Chair

Miss Holly Chair by Jonas Lindvall for Stolab

Dezeen Showroom: created by Swedish designer and architect Jonas Lindvall for solid-wood furniture brand Stolab, the Miss Holly Chair is a contemporary take on the classic Windsor chair.

First launched in 2011, the Miss Holly Chair represents a modern interpretation of the traditional Windsor chair popularised in 18th-century England, and characterised by a solid wooden seat with the back and legs pushed into drilled holes.

"Miss Holly was created with respect for the past and a feel for what is lacking today," said Stolab.

"Designer Jonas Lindvall has gained inspiration from Windsor chairs from all over the world and has created his very own version with a two-dimensional feel."

Its name is a reference to Audrey Hepburn's character in Breakfast at Tiffany's

The chair was named Miss Holly in honour of Holly Golightly, portrayed by Audrey Hepburn in the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Like the film's setting in mid-century New York City, the chair's aesthetic is considered by both Lindvall and Stolab to owe much to the 1950s.

Produced in Sweden, the Miss Holly Chair is available in both oak and ash, as well as in several finishes and colours.
