Dezeen Showroom: office furniture brand Actiu has released the A+S Work chair, designed by Alegre Design to bring ergonomic comfort to a wider range of body types.

The Active Solution for Work (A+S Work) chair is distinguished by its all-in-one synchronised mechanism, which combines two of Actiu's existing tilting systems to move the chair's seat and back together while keeping their angles optimised for maximum support.

Actiu said it applied ergonomics with the utmost care in the design so that the chair would perform for the broadest range of people possible, such as those with uncommon heights.

"It is a product that supports maximum comfort and reliability, with the highest safety and ergonomic features," said Actiu director and brand reputation manager Soledat Berbegal.

The A+S work chair is made entirely of thermoplastic, including its backrest, seat, swivel base, armrests and accessories.

Actiu offers replacements for all of these components, extending the life cycle of the chair, and they can also be recycled at the end of their life.
