Dezeen Showroom: Australian brand Derlot has given the classic beanbag an elevated update with the Pinto chair, designed by company founder Alexander Lotersztain.

Lotersztain intended Pinto to have the casual feel of a beanbag but combined with a silhouette that is "sculptural and sophisticated".

"The overall feel is organic and relaxed and invites calm repose in every environment," said Derlot.

The Pinto beanbag comes upholstered in any fabric or leather of the customer's choosing, and can be used outdoors if a water-repellant material is specified.

The chair has a black vinyl base and requires 400 litres of beanbag filling.
