Promotion: international design fair Collectible returns to Brussels to present the latest collectible contemporary design, including bespoke commissions, limited editions and one-off pieces.

The fair, which takes place at the Tour & Taxis warehouse buildings in Brussels, Belgium, runs from 9 to 12 March 2023. It will feature a curated selection of designs from architects, design studios and emerging and established galleries.

The fair will include three core sections – Main, Bespoke and Curated – which will each feature a "carefully curated selection of pieces at the confluence of design, architecture and art".

The fair also includes two new sections this year named New Garde and Architect <=> Designer.

"Breaking away from the traditional fair format, Collectible seeks to reinterpret the design fair model by offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in an open and integrated space where galleries, design studios, institutions and foundations come together," explained the founders of Collectible, Clélie Debehault and Liv Vaisberg.

The Main section of the fair will feature pieces from Galerie Vivid, which will participate for the first time and present the work of Armenian-born designer Noro Khachatryan, while Galerie MiniMasterpiece will spotlight 40 pieces of unique jewellery and Objects with Narratives has created an immersive dining room experience called What's For Dinner.

Etage Projects also examines the act of dining and presents Anna Aagaard Jensen's work, which explores surreal eating habits. The Frozen Fountain will showcase a selection of up and coming and established designers from the Dutch design scene, while Mia Karlova Galerie presents "functional sculpture" and TABLEAU showcases floral art installations and design.

Gallery Maison Commun will present jewellery based on everyday items, while Galerie Z7 will exhibit a diverse range of collectible design. Sinople will showcase a number of pieces that explore "the boundaries of design and functional art".

The Bespoke section of Collectible focuses on innovation materials, such as biomaterials, recycled, high-tech materials and materials made by artisanal techniques.

Designers taking part include Carla Baz, who will present a marble-based design project; Maarten De Ceulaer, who will showcase pieces from his Mutation and Stained Glass series while design studio Heim + Viladrich will showcase objects made by Rotterdam-based designer Laurids Gallé and the founder of Zaventem Ateliers, Lionel Jadot will present his new collection.

The Bespoke section also includes the work by creative studio Waiting for Ideas, which will present objects associated with designer Jean-Baptiste Anotin's youth, which was "shaped by his family history in the automotive industry".

Other design studios exhibiting within Bespoke include SB26 and Samuel Accoceberry, which will explore the limits of metal work in creating furniture and lighting and ÆTHER/MASS, which will present experimental sculptures.

Curated will follow the theme "What is your story?" and will focus on creator collaborations that aim to "restore and empower a collective force of creativity from the grassroots".

What is your story? will present pieces by designers and studios, including Louise Begue Teissier, Zuzanna Spaltabaka, Christoph Wimmer-Ruelland, Max Funkat, Yuma Kano, Dilara Kan Hon, Studio Eidola, Maria Tsilogianni, Sangmin Oh, Gemma Barr, WKND Lab Didi NG Wing Yin and Ori Orisun Merhav.

Also featured are Atelier Duyi Han, Coline Le Quenven, EDXXKAT, Earthstone, Lenny Stopp, Annelie Grimwade, Henrik Ødegaard and Jibbe Van Schie.

"The past years have been marked by a plethora of new galleries or collective dedicated to contemporary design emerging across the world, all driven by the desire to create a platform for the designers of our times that inspire them," said the fair.

The second new section of Collectible called Architect <=> Designer, will be solely dedicated to the work of interior designers and architects selected by Belgian interior designer Nicolas Schuybroek.

This includes Edgar Jayet, Corpus Studio, AdriAn Blanc, Marion Bernard Architectes and Béton Brut presenting Low Collection by Benni Allan from EBBA Architects.

Collectible aims to spotlight the latest trends in design. The event's galleries and designers have been gathered by a committee of experts in the creative industry, including Michelin chef Nick Bril; general director of the MAK Museum, Lilli Hollein; architect and designer Glenn Sestig; and vice-chancellor of the London Royal College of Art, Dr Paul Thomson.

The platform was established in 2018 by Paris-based art and design consultant Clélie Debehault and Rotterdam-based artistic director Liv Vaisberg.
