Dezeen Showroom: designer Daniel Tucker has created a collection of timber stools with sleek rounded accents for Australian studio DesignByThem.

The Bobby Stools feature a curved wooden handle that doubles as a backrest, making the seating "part stool, part chair".

Manufactured for both indoor and outdoor use, Bobby is available in oak and ash solid timber as well as weather-resistant powder-coated aluminium.

Tucker also designed optional upholstered cushion pads in a variety of colours to add a softer touch to the hard wooden seating.

"Bobby is a perfect in-betweener, ideal for spaces where quality and casualness meet," said DesignByThem.

"The aim was to add personality and playfulness to the conventional timber stool," added Tucker.

The stool comes in low, counter and bar versions depending on preference.
