Irish Green marble by Alessandro La Spada for Antolini

Dezeen Showroom: Italian stone brand Antolini and designer Alessandro La Spada have released a marble surface named Irish Green, which features vivid white and apple-green veining.

According to Antolini, the natural marble surface was historically used in palaces during the Renaissance to recall the green colours seen in fields and woodlands.

The marble has different shades of green running through it

"Irish Green is a marble that glorifies in shades of green, displaying uneven colouring and shading that passes from dark to light," said Antolini.

"This geologically ancient stone was used by Renaissance architects to bring the colours of the fields and the forests to the splendid palaces they adorned with magnificent works, which are still admired today by tourists from around the world."

It has a striking appearance intended to add elegance to interior settings

Antolini launched the Irish Green marble in a bid to add "elegance and uniqueness" to interior spaces.

It forms part of the brand's Exclusive Collection, which aims to showcase the beauty of natural stone surfaces.
