We've chosen five current and upcoming outdoor events listed in Dezeen Events Guide that are taking place in Europe, including the Venice Architecture Biennale, France Design Week and Web(s) of Life.

Mirror Mirror: Reflections on Design at Chatsworth
18 March to 1 October, UK

Mirror Mirror: Reflections on Design at Chatsworth is an exhibition taking place in Bakewell, UK, showcasing furniture, lighting, ceramics and sculptures.

Each exhibition piece reflects an aspect of Chatsworth House, including its architecture, furniture, interiors and ceramics.

The stately home presents 16 designers and artists: Joris Laarman, Chris Schanck, Andile Dyalvane, Faye Toogood, Ettore Sottsass, Formafantasma, Max Lamb, Jay Sae Jung Oh, Fernando Laposse, Ndidi Ekubia, Joseph Walsh, Michael Anastassiades, Ini Archibong, Samuel Ross, Najla El Zein and Wendell Castle.

The exhibition takes place inside and across the grounds of Chatsworth House and includes benches created by Dutch designer Joris Laarman located in Salisbury Lawns.

Venice Architecture Biennale
20 May to 26 November, Italy

The 18th edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale follows the theme ​​The Laboratory of the Future, curated by Scottish-Ghanaian architect Lesley Lokko.

The biennale features a programme of national exhibitions, whereby countries present design projects in pavilions predominately located in Giardini della Biennale and Arsenale di Venezia.

The event also includes fringe exhibitions such as A Fragile Correspondence – Scotland + Venice, which explores three Scottish landscapes and the Time Space Existence group show.

Web(s) of Life
1 June to 10 September, UK

The Serpentine's South Gallery hosts Web(s) of Life, Argentinian artist Tomás Saraceno's exhibition informed by spiders.

Web(s) of Life uses interactive sculptures and installations in the Serpentine Gallery and Kensington Gardens exploring architecture in the natural kingdom, including spider webs.

Saraceno's first solo exhibition was designed to support its surrounding wildlife, such as insects, birds, ducks and foxes.

France Design Week 2023 follows the theme Vivant, Vivants

France Design Week
7 to 28 September, France

France Design Week 2023 is separated into two programmes, including Paris Design Week from 7 to 16 September and events taking place in the rest of the country from 14 to 28 September.

This year's festival follows the theme Vivant, Vivants, which translates to 'alive, living' exploring how design is incorporated in all aspects of life.

The programme of events includes workshops, exhibitions, talks, conferences, open studios and school open days in indoor and outdoor venues across the country.

Helsinki Design Week
8 to 17 September, Finland

The 2023 edition of Helsinki Design Week follows the theme Once upon a Time, leading up to the event's 20th anniversary in 2025.

The event's main exhibition is located in the city's Merikortteli building and explores changes in working and home environments. The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of talks.

The festival also hosts other exhibitions and talks, workshops, open showrooms, open studios, fashion shows, markets and networking opportunities.
