Neom's Leyja region

Dezeen Debate features "beautifully designed" renders of Neom's fifth region

The latest edition of our Dezeen Debate newsletter features Leyja, the fifth region of Saudi Arabia's Neom projectSubscribe to Dezeen Debate now.

Saudi Arabia has unveiled renders of the fifth region of its Neom project, which will be situated in a valley that begins at the Gulf of Aqaba coast. It will contain a mirrored hotel by Shaun Killa, a rock-shaped hotel by Mario Cucinella and a stepped cliffside hotel by Chris van Duijn.

Readers were split over the proposed project. One praised the "beautifully designed" statement pieces. Whereas another criticised the design for "destroying nature and everything that lives around it".
