Dezeen Showroom: Japanese office furniture manufacturer Okamura has added a slimline modular shelving system to its Lives collection of workplace furnishings.

The Lives Shelf range aims to seamlessly integrate into contemporary workplaces and offers a myriad of functionalities.

As well as storage, the shelving can be used as space dividers – this effect is enhanced by the addition of solid panels to the back of the units.

Optional extras including coat hooks, monitor mounts and marker boards can be attached to the shelving, further increasing its uses.

The modularity of the shelving allows it to carve out different zones in open-plan office spaces, which can be reconfigured as needed.

The units come in a range of colourways and finishes for both the frame and shelves, including powder-coated colours and wood grain laminate finishes.
