Technology brand Apple is bringing its Designers of Tomorrow exhibition back to Design Miami Paris in October as part of its push to showcase emerging designers.

The exhibition, which is set to take place as part of Design Miami's Paris edition, will showcase pieces by four emerging designers.

These designers will be selected by a jury led by AGO Projects co-founder Rodman Primack, and including Nigerian designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello and Apple's head of industrial design Molly Anderson.

"At Apple, our design practice is grounded in the belief that thoughtfully designed objects can make everyday life more human, personal and connected," Anderson told Dezeen.

"We are delighted to continue the Designers of Tomorrow program, to recognise emerging designers who share the same thoughtfulness, curiosity, appreciation of materials and craftsmanship."

This year, the designers will create pieces that respond to the theme Design for Presence, which explores how people can slow down and be more mindful.

"Great design has the ability to hold our attention in increasingly rare and meaningful ways," said Design Miami CEO Jennifer Roberts.

"Through this year's Designers of Tomorrow theme, Design for Presence, we are celebrating emerging designers whose work invites us to slow down, engage our senses, and connect more deeply with the people and spaces around us."

Alongside Anderson, Primack, Roberts and Marcus-Bello, the quartet of designers will be selected by Judd Foundation director of design Alexandra Cunningham, designer Fabien Capello, artist Hun Chung Lee, SFMOMA curator of architecture and design Jennifer Dunlop Fletcher, interior designer Marion Mailaender and designer Minjae Kim.

Each of the 10 jury members will suggest around four designers who have been practising for less than 10 years for inclusion in the exhibition; these will then be whittled down to a final four.

"I look forward to working with, and being surprised by, a stellar jury who will propose and then select our four featured designers," said Primack.

"The jury is comprised of exceptional figures in design – from leading institutional curatorial voices to established designers working across continents; including perspectives from Nigeria to Korea," he continued,

"The entire program is energised by a spirit of generosity and sense of community which I know was a key to last year’s success, and is something I hope that we will build upon in this year."

The exhibition follows the inaugural Designers of Tomorrow event last year, which featured London-based designer Marco Campardo, Paris duo Marie & Alexandre, Shanghai-based Duyi Han and Vietnamese-American ceramicist Jolie Ngo.

Last year Apple also collaborated with fashion brand Issey Miyake to create an expandable iPhone sock and Dutch designer Sabine Marcelis to add a mirrored obelisk to Apple Park.
