A-N-D transforms historic Copenhagen printing press into sculptural lighting gallery

Promotion: Canadian lighting brand A-N-D has opened its permanent Copenhagen headquarters during 3 Days of Design, marking the launch with a multi-level exhibition showcasing its sculptural lighting collections.

Named North Quarters, the exhibition occupies the brand's new European flagship showroom on Sankt Peders Stræde in the city's Latin Quarter. It doubled as the venue for the festival's official opening party, hosted together with Dezeen.

Spread across three floors, the exhibition transformed the historic former commercial printing press into a showcase for the studio's existing and newly released lighting collections.

On the ground floor, pendants were suspended in sculptural formations above monolithic furniture pieces, including a 16-foot dining table by Canadian designer Christian Woo.

A-N-D used the basement's raw industrial character as a backdrop for lighting displays

Among them are A-N-D's Contour and Pebble pendants, which are arranged in a necklace-like composition stretching the length of the table.

The basement level, which was left largely untouched and retains its original exposed surfaces, was used to display floor lamps, sconces and prototypes.

The top floor was conceived as a quieter lounge-like retreat for visitors

The top floor has been conceived as a quieter lounge-like retreat, where rows of Column floor lamps were arranged alongside an audio installation informed by sound waves.

A series of benches were placed for visitors to sit, while a coffee station with espresso machines by Italian manufacturer La Marzocco was framed by a custom wall installation composed of A-N-D's tubular Vale lights designed by Caine Heintzman.

Other showcased works include sculptural and modular lighting systems by A-N-D including the Iris and Pace collections.

The showroom was designed as a counterpart to A-N-D's Vancouver flagship

The exhibition marks the Vancouver brand's first permanent European base, conceived as a counterpart to its Canadian headquarters rather than a temporary festival showroom.

Founded by designers Lukas Peet and Caine Heintzman alongside business partner Matt Davis, A-N-D develops and manufactures decorative lighting collections in-house.

The studio's name derives from the phrase "a new detail", reflecting its focus on formal experimentation, lighting technology and material precision.

A-N-D's Copenhagen headquarters will remain a permanent showroom and event space following 3 Days of Design.

North Quarters by A-N-D takes place from 10 to 12 June 2026 at Sankt Peders Stræde 45B, Copenhagen, as part of 3 Days of Design. See our 3 Days of Design festival guide on Dezeen Events Guide for information about the many other exhibitions, installations and talks that will take place throughout the week.
