Promotion: the new Saxum collection from Italian tile brand Casalgrande Padana combines the natural look of stone with the practical qualities of porcelain.

Saxum is described by Casalgrande Padana as putting "a modern spin on the primitive identity and sensual beauty of stone" and is available in five colourways.

It features the imperfections, random veining, appealing texture and organic tones of ancient stone.

According to Casalgrande Padana, the tiles within the collection also have excellent technical performance, making them suitable for a vast range of applications indoors and out.

"Ideal for both floors and walls, indoors and outdoors, these tiles can be used everywhere from homes to larger-scale public or commercial design projects," said the brand.

"They are suitable for all kinds of climates and settings. The new Saxum collection offers multiple combinations for all kinds of decor styles, bringing a fresh, original look to any environment."

In interiors, Saxum tiles can be used to create showers and baths that look as if they were carved from natural rock, as well as bathroom surfaces and kitchen tile walls.

For outdoor areas, the collection is suitable for patio, veranda or terrace flooring, as well as swimming-pool tiles.

To ensure they are easy to lay, the tiles are perfectly squared and rectified, and come with a thicker anti-slip option.

They can be laid on screed using glue for applications that involve taking heavy loads. Alternatively, they can be dry-laid on sand, gravel or turf, and walked on immediately.

According to Casalgrande Padana, this versatility makes Saxum a particularly good choice for creating spaces that transition seamlessly from indoors to the outside.

The product's durability, which is enabled by proprietary technologies, also means it can be used as a facade cladding on buildings.

Included in the collection are the colours Antracite, Beige, Bianco, Grigio and Perla, available in various finishes and sizes ranging from 30 x 30-centimetre mosaic tiles to 120 x 120 centimetres.

Casalgrande Padana explained that its porcelain tiles maintain their appearance and performance over time, are immune to thermal shock in hot or cold climates, and are resistant to frost, wear-and-tear and warping.

They are also easy to clean, recyclable, fire-resistant and non-allergenic. An optional Bios Ceramics treatment is available upon request, which makes the tiles self-cleaning and antibacterial.
