Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture designs “fluid” skyscraper Lilli for Miami waterfront
US studio Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture has unveiled its latest skyscraper for Miami, designed to display “quiet refinement” on a slender site on the city’s waterfront.

Called Lilli, the residential skyscraper development is the latest in Miami from Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture (AS+GG). The studio is known for designing some of the world’s tallest buildings, including the world’s upcoming tallest skyscraper, the Jeddah Tower.
At 636 feet tall (193 metres), Lilli is planned for a narrow site in Miami’s Edgewater neighbourhood.

The luxury skyscraper will feature rounded edges and will have terraces on the water-facing side, with larger patios running up the opposite face.
Its design is characterised by rounded edges and large spans of glass interrupted by metallic floor plates.

“Our vision is for Lilli’s interior design to feel inseparable from its architecture,” said AS+GG design partner Juan Betancur.
“The fluidity of the building carries through the interior spaces, while a restrained palette of natural materials allows light, landscape, and views of Biscayne Bay to become part of the experience.”
“The result is a sense of quiet refinement that feels distinctly connected to its waterfront setting.”
The skyscraper will house 117 residences of varying sizes, spread across its 53 storeys, as well as amenities including lounges, pools and spas.
The ground floor will have a lobby for residents with large metallic columns and minimalist detailing.

At the top of the skyscraper, a pool will sit on the edge of a terrace underneath a bulkhead with the same reflective metal treatment seen elsewhere in the exterior.
Lilli is the latest in a series of residential skyscrapers being designed by the studio, which recently completed a “yacht-inspired” building in the city.

Residential skyscraper development has proceeded at a steady pace in Miami, with Bugatti recently unveiling its first branded skyscraper in the city.
