The Urban Landscape Architecture BA course challenges students to combine creativity, curiosity and technical skill to explore how we reimagine the natural and built environment.
We aim to develop design skills to plan urban landscapes, understand how built environments shape our behaviours and explore questions of how we build and inhabit cities in the 21st century. We consider how urban environments are key to the sustainability of cities.
Urban landscapes are changing dramatically. Cities worldwide are implementing plans to maintain the vitality of metropolitan areas and make them attractive and sustainable to residents, businesses and visitors.
With increased awareness of the social and health impacts of nature, the need to co-habit cities with non-human species, and the role of nature and ecology in providing a critical urban infrastructure, the challenge of designing diverse urban environments is exciting and urgent.
There is an integrated foundation year option for this course.
