PRONOUNCED DESIGN has worked with Diningr:um to design its industrial-style office in Shanghai, China.

As a creative advertising company, Diningr:um wanted to "create an office space different from traditional advertising companies that pursue glamorous space requirements".

After PRONOUNCED DESIGN and the owner agreed, they intentionally chose a practical and environmentally friendly industrial style, with mottled concrete walls and exposed open frame systems standing side by side.

"As a result, the new office is completed in a borderline unfinished state, as if creativity is constantly evolving," said PRONOUNCED DESIGN.

"Our era is undoubtedly changing rapidly, office spaces are facing challenges such as team expansion and business diversification, [therefore] designers use flexible and streamlined designs to embrace architecture as a temporary behaviour."

The original concrete walls were all retained in the project, while the rough-surfaced columns unexpectedly became the aesthetic highlights of the space.

This project has been shortlisted in the workplace interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
