Fusion Design & Architecture has redesigned the Tree and Villa in Dali, China.

Under the influence of the humanistic environment, the concept of Feng Sheng integrates modernity and simplicity and transfers more comfort and spaciousness of space to users, creating a harmonious but different architectural order among the rows of small buildings in Shuanglang Ancient Town.

"The original building [was] a small building of the Bai ethnic group with ethnic characteristics," said Fusion Design & Architecture.

"Therefore, in the design, we also hope[d] to give the building a new design style and living experience while retaining the national elements."

Additionally, in order to avoid distracting the guests, the designers chose to reduce unnecessary decor or furnishings and avoid too many elements disrupting the visual experience.

This project has been shortlisted in the hotel and short-stay interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
