Designers in Residence 2026 at EMMA Creative Centre
The Designers in Residence 2026 scholarship at EMMA Creative Centre offers three international designers the opportunity to work on their design projects in the creative hub of Pforzheim, Germany.
Every year from April to June the city of Pforzheim together with Pforzheim University and Design Centre Baden-Württemberg invites international young designers as part of the scholarship programme 'Designers in Residence' to Pforzheim.
'Designers in Residence' addresses to young designers working in the fields of jewellery, fashion, accessory, industrial and communication design as well as other design disciplines. Interdisciplinary project proposals are welcome. Three scholarship holders will be invited to the EMMA Creative Centre Pforzheim for a three-month working phase.
Fully equipped workplaces in the workshops will be available for the scholarship holders use, as well as accommodation for the period of the scholarship. If required, the workshops of Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences can also be used.
In addition, each scholarship holder receives a monthly support and a reimbursement of the travel expenses for arrival and departure. The results of the work fellowship will then be presented in an exhibition at the EMMA Creative Centre in Pforzheim.

What will I learn during this course?
– Development of independent projects without financial and spatial constraints
What are the requirements?
– Applicants must have completed studies at an university of applied sciences or university, must either not be older than 35 years or must have completed their studies not longer than two years ago
– To apply, a proposal for a project that can be implemented during the scholarship must be submitted. Interdisciplinary project proposals are welcome
– Language skills in German or English are required
What facilities and resources are available?
– The scholarship includes use of fully equipped workshop (jewellery, fashion and woodworking workshops), coworking workplaces and a large exhibition space in the EMMA Creative Centre in Pforzheim and free accommodation for the period of three months

What career prospects can I expect upon graduating?
Designers will be able to present a fully finished project at the end of their residency, which will lead the way to possible new professional and artistic opportunities.
Moreover, EMMA Creative Centre nurtures a large network of designers, institutions and companies which can offer visibility, connection and guidance to the scholarship holders.
