The Interaction Design Programme at Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design encourages students to utilise the latest design technology to create prototype-driven projects.
Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design is looking for 24 active, curious minds to join its 2026 Interaction Design Programme (IDP) at CIID.
The IDP is designed to teach students how to create what's missing in the world and help build a more optimistic, inclusive future.
The one-year programme transforms people of diverse talents into capable designers, through hands-on learning and prototype-driven collaborative projects. You'll master tangible and digital interfaces, service design, AI workflows and immersive experiences and more.
Each IDP cohort brings together 24 brilliant minds with a diverse array of expertise, background and lived experience. Since 2008, the institute has welcomed students from over 45 countries, and no prior design experience is needed.
As design tools evolve, CIID is reimagining how technology can be a better creative partner. Courses are led primarily by visiting practitioners, who constantly pioneer new approaches and unlock new possibilities.
Industry partnerships provide real-world challenges, while our international network of alumni, instructors and partners fosters peer learning across continents. Graduates emerge ready to create effective solutions that address social and environmental challenges.
Supported by CIID's extensive network, IDP graduates have established successful careers worldwide as interaction designers, UX researchers, creative technologists and design leaders.

– A design background is not necessary to apply or participate in our programming
– Applications are reviewed every 15th of the month
What facilities and resources are available?
– A physical studio
– Tools, machines and materials to create prototypes
– Digital fabrication lab and bio-lab
– Workshops, studio spaces, presentation spaces, exhibition space, library, kitchen and La Frasca – a common area for convening and nourishment

What career prospects can I expect upon graduating?
Alumni use their creative practice to drive systemic change across a wide range of institutions and organisations, including NASA, Apple, BBC and UNICEF.
