Banyan Tree Yangcheng Lake
Yang Bangsheng has designed the interiors of the Banyan Tree Suzhou Yangcheng Lake, a secluded mountain-and-lake courtyard retreat nestled in Suzhou, China.
Nestled within Suzhou's renowned Yangcheng Lake Leisure and Tourism Resort, the hotel boasts beautiful scenery embraced by water on three sides.
It harmoniously blends into the lakeside garden, resembling a traditional courtyard and offering an unparalleled retreat.
"We drew inspiration from the private residence of a renowned local historical figure, Shen Zhou and integrated the essence of Xiangcheng's 10 traditional crafts, known as the 'Ten Wonders of Xiangcheng', into the design, crafting a secluded haven for modern literati amidst the picturesque lakes and mountains," said Yang Bangsheng.
From the perspective of interior design, the hotel's layout maximises views by thoughtfully arranging public areas and guestrooms along the lakeshore, ensuring guests can enjoy lake views from arrival to dining to accommodation.
This project has been shortlisted in the hotel and short stay interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2025.
